2007 Women's
Classic/Challenge - Battle Creek, MI
7-28-07: A
very special treat was tasted at Cereal City's Kellogg Arena for 27
members of All American Flames Gymnastix. The 2007 Women's Classic
/ Challenge hosted by Branch Gymnastics brought to our state the best
gymnasts in the nation. 2008 Olympic hopefuls were on-tap
performing for their final chance to qualify to the 2007 Visa
Championships, Aug. 15-18 in San Jose, CA. This important
International Elite-level qualifier is rarely hosted so close to our
local area. This inspirational trip encouraged our athletes who
attended via demonstrations of excellent gymnastics performed at the
highest level.
Congratulations to
Geddert's Twistars' athletes Kamerin Moore and Jordyn Wieber (Jr Elites)
on their fine performances in front of their home crowd.

Team Auction /
Sleepover - Port Huron, MI
7-26-07:
Stuff, stuff, and more stuff was up for bid as the Lady Flames cashed in
their points for stuff they wanted, stuff they needed, and stuff they
certainly 'had' to have! (let's not forget the silly stuff, too!)
The fun-filled evening was made possible through many generous
individuals who not only donated stuff, but also helped subdue the
general chaos of trying to deliver the goods in a fair and timely
manner. Thanks to all who helped. We had a great time and
are looking forward to next year's auction!

NAWGJ Clinic -
Howell, MI
7-20-07:
Gymnasts in-training for Levels 7-8 were welcomed to an informative
clinic hosted by Michigan's Gymnastic Judges at Hartland Gymnastics
Academy. Neil and Patty Resnick, formerly of Flips USA in Sparks
Nevada, were the Master Clinicians spotlighted for this weekend.
Neil has been a member of the National Coaching staff for many years, as
well as the current head coach for Boise State University. The
clinics presented by the Resnicks were very informative and a delight to
participate in. The Friday workout for gymnasts preceded the
classroom clinics for coaches and judges.

International Day Parade - Port Huron, MI
7-18-07:
The deluge which tried to dampen the spirits of our gymnasts and
families didn't quite bring enough water. For the first time in
the parade's 80+ year history, severe weather brought about a prompt
ending to the festivities, even before it officially began. The
evening wasn't a complete washout, however, as there was ample food
on-hand for consumption, and energetic bodies looking for some fun.
Turning the lemons into lemonade ended with an hilarious game of "Turkey
on the Roof" between parents and their children. Many thanks to
ALL the volunteers who offered their talents and services for what would
have been an impressive appearance. We'll try it again next year! |

Cassell Camp - Muskegon, MI
7-13-07:
A small contingent of the Lady Flames compulsory gymnasts traveled with
coaches Melinda and Joe Scheible to Michigan's "left coast" for a fun
summer camp hosted by Cassell Gymnastics. The Scheible's
participated as clinicians for the 7th consecutive year. Cassell's
camp consists of 3 workout days and a beach party. This was a
great opportunity for our kids to meet other gymnasts, coaches and
judges, in a very nice area for recreation. |
