State Championships L4 & L6 - Holland, MI
5-1-10:
Mayday! Mayday! The beginning of May brought the end to the Level
4 and Level 6 2010 season. A beautiful setting during "tulip time"
in Holland, Michigan was the backdrop where the host club, Champion USA
welkom-ed the competitors. The Level 4 ladies began the weekend
with a fragrant aroma of a 4th Place finish, out of 40 teams. They
were only .075 away from 3rd place and .8 away from 1st.
The budding achievers were:
Larissa Bowles - 2nd Bars, Beam, AA
Cassie Daugherty - 2nd Floor
Karlie Franz - 2nd Vlt, 1st Floor, 3rd AA
Emily Justa - 3rd Vlt, 1st Bars
Alaina Laster - 1st Vlt, 2nd Floor
Alyssa Lyon - 1st Floor
Annie ONeil - 2nd Vlt, 2nd Floor
Kenna Robbel - 3rd Vlt
Kaia Scheffler - 1st Vlt, 2nd AA
Thomia Tomlanovich - 2nd Floor
The Level 6 Team decided against "going Dutch" and chose to combine
their bill for a 5th Place Team trophy. This nice accomplishment
was a step up from a satisfactory 6th they were prepared for.
Sophie Jackson footed the bill with a team leading 37.475 (1st-tie).
Jackson's floor routine was the highlight of the Level 6 FX competition.
Her 9.55 easily distinguished itself as the best of the best. It's
not too often you see a great combination of tumbling, control and
entertaining showmanship. It's difficult to find those qualities
within most compulsory routines, but Jackson somehow carves it out with
confidence.
Sophie Jackson - 3rd Vlt, 3rd Bars, 1st Floor, 1st AA
Megan Lynch - 1st Vlt |
