Amanda Stepp Recieves Full Athletic Scholarship

All American Flames Level 10 Gymnast Amanda Stepp has accepted a full athletic scholarship to the University of Northern Illinois.  NIU is a Division 1A school in the Mid-American Conference. Amanda is the daughter of Mike and Robin Stepp of Lapeer, MI., and is a Lapeer East 2011 student. Her academic interests will be served well through NIU's Nursing Program and facilities.  Stepp was being recruited by Central Michigan University, Kent State University, and received an offer to walk-on at the University of Michigan the day following NIU's offer.  Her decision for the Huskies was made shortly after NIU's Head Coach Mark Sontag made a visit to Port Huron.  Coach Sontag felt Amanda would be a great asset to the Huskies, and we couldn't agree more.  Her determination in and out of the gym has been a trademark of her successful career at All American Flames, and we know it will serve her well deep into her bright future.
